The association formed a Safety Watch program in 2008 under the guidance of the LFUCG police department. The program is focused on awareness of incidents which violate the property of neighborhood residents. Members of this Association are automatically included in the Safety Watch program, but other residents can join separately. When residents see a suspicious activity or violation, they should call the police if the event is in progress, then promptly notify our online Safety Watch address (stonewallweb@gmail.com). If the event has already occurred, they should call the police on their administrative number 859-258-3600) and also notify the online site as soon as possible. The information will be transmitted to all program members who have given us an email address.
For this program the Stonewall neighborhood also has been subdivided into block captain areas generally including from 20 to 50 homes with an average of 35. Some areas have block captains assigned, some do not. Block captains receive all Safety Watch notices posted online, and they will attempt to notifying those residents in their area who do not receive the notices by email.
A sub-function of the Safety Watch program is to disseminate information about lost pets of neighborhood residents. In addition we will also occasionally send announcements of general interest to the neighborhood, including Association events, for all these events using the Stonewall website.
