The Stonewall neighborhood consists of 1,000 homes located in southwest Lexington, Kentucky in Zip Code 40503. With minor exceptions the area is bounded by New Circle Road on the northeast, Clays Mill Road on the east, Man o’ War Boulevard on the south, and the Rabbit Run and Indian Hills neighborhoods on the west and northwest. It includes the subdivisions of Stonewall Estates, Waverly Estates, Grasmere, and Stonewall Equestrian Estates. See map for boundaries and included streets.
The neighborhood was constructed between the late 1950s and the middle 1980s and is characterized by large and gracious mostly one-level homes on large lots (most of which are ½ acre or larger). Stonewall is generally considered one of the more attractive neighborhoods in Lexington.
Public elementary and middle schools are located in the neighborhood, and the assigned high school is only a short drive away. Several nearby shopping centers serve the area (Stonewall Shopping Center, Palomar Centre, Keithshire Place, Meijer, ) and Fayette Mall, the largest shopping mall in Kentucky, is only two miles away. The neighborhood has two parks within its boundaries and two more adjacent, including one regional park with a swimming pool, tennis courts, picnic area, and soccer fields.
